Privacy Statement

Purposes for processing your personal data

  • Collecting membership fees;
  • Sending newsletters and other emails via Mailchimp;
  • Contacting the member in case of questions or announcements;
  • Sending postal mail;
  • Listing the name in the name list in the almanac;
  • Publishing photos of activities on the website, in the association magazine, and in the almanac;
  • Determining the reach and usage of the website and newsletter. Note: No visitor or reader profiles are created for this purpose. Only statistics are kept.

Processing

The processing is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by the association or by a third party, except where such interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject requiring the protection of personal data override those interests, in particular where the data subject is a child.

Potential recipients of the data

The data is processed in our accounting program, Conscribo.

Your email address and name are provided to Mailchimp to send the newsletter via this program.

The data is provided to the Fos Committee for recognition and for subsidies from the university.

Data on website usage is processed by Jeckpack by WordPress.

The data is not provided to other parties or countries.

Storage of membership data

We keep the data until the end of the membership, which always ends at the end of the association year (August 31). After this, only necessary data is kept in an alumni file.

Member's rights

The member can exercise their rights in writing (electronic means suffice). The rights are as follows:

  • The right to access their data;
  • The right to correct data if incorrect;
  • The right to erasure of data and 'the right to be forgotten';
  • The right to restrict data processing;
  • The right to object to data processing;
  • The right to data portability;
  • The right not to be subject to automated decision-making;
  • The right to lodge a complaint about the processing with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). The member must first contact QBDBD regarding the complaint.

Processing of personal data

Processing of personal data is necessary for registering you as a member. You are not obliged to provide the data, but if consent for processing personal data is not given, we cannot register you as a member.
